Kairos, a product of Summit Digital Labs, LLC ("we," "our," or "us"), is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you use the Kairos mobile application (the "App").

Information We Collect

Anonymous Analytics Data

​

We use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous usage data to help us understand how users interact with the App and improve its performance. This data is collected automatically and does not personally identify you. It may include:

  • App usage statistics (e.g., which features you use, how often)

  • Device information (e.g., device model, operating system version)

  • General location data (country/region level only)

  • App performance metrics (e.g., crash reports, load times)

  • Session duration and frequency
     

When you use the App, you may create, submit, post, and share content, including but not limited to daily reflection responses, personal commentary, and other materials (collectively, "User Content"). We collect and store:

  • Your daily reflection responses and submissions

  • Your display name, username, and profile information

  • Social interactions including friend connections, friend requests, likes, and other engagement with User Content

  • Metadata associated with your User Content, including timestamps and device information

All User Content is stored on Google Cloud Platform infrastructure and may be accessed by authorized personnel as described in this Privacy Policy.
 

Personal Information You Provide

Account Information: When you sign up for Kairos, we collect and store your name, username, and birthdate in Google Cloud. This information is used to:

​

  • Create and maintain your account

  • Provide personalized features and reminders
     

Life Progress Information (Optional): You may optionally enter a birthdate to calculate and visualize your life progress. This information is stored locally on your device only and is never transmitted to our servers or any third parties.

Push Notification Data

​

If you enable push notifications, we use Firebase Cloud Messaging to send you reminders and motivational messages. We collect:

  • Device token (required to send notifications to your specific device)

  • Notification delivery status
     

How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

​

  • Improve the App's functionality and user experience

  • Understand anonymous usage patterns and preferences

  • Send you push notifications (only if you've opted in)

  • Analyze app performance

  • User Content and App Operations


Authorized Kairos team members may access your User Content, account information, and usage data when reasonably necessary, including for the following purposes:

  • Service Provision: To enable the social features of the App, including displaying your User Content to friends you have connected with

  • Technical Support: To provide customer support, troubleshoot technical issues, and respond to your inquiries

  • Content Moderation: To enforce our Terms of Service, prevent abuse, detect violations, and maintain a safe community environment

  • Legal Compliance: To comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes, or enforceable governmental requests

  • Service Improvement: To analyze usage patterns, develop new features, and improve the App's functionality and user experience

  • Security and Fraud Prevention: To protect the security and integrity of the App and prevent fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity

All personnel with access to User Content are bound by confidentiality obligations. We reserve the right, but have no obligation, to monitor, review, or edit User Content at our sole discretion. You acknowledge and agree that User Content is not confidential and that we cannot guarantee absolute privacy or security of any information transmitted through or stored by the App. By using Kairos, You expressly consent to our access, monitoring, and use of User Content as described in this Privacy Policy.

Content Moderation and Removal

We reserve the right, but assume no obligation, to:
 

  • Monitor, screen, edit, or remove any User Content at any time and for any reason without prior notice

  • Investigate violations of our Terms of Service or this Privacy Policy

  • Take appropriate action against users who violate our policies, including content removal, account suspension, or termination

  • Disclose User Content to law enforcement or other third parties when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to comply with legal obligations or protect our rights, property, or safety.
     

Users may report User Content that violates our Terms of Service or community guidelines. We review reported content at our sole discretion and may take action as we deem appropriate. We are not responsible for monitoring all User Content and make no representations that we will detect or remove objectionable content.

We do not:
 

  • Sell your data to third parties

  • Share your personal information with advertisers

  • Track you across other apps or websites
     

Data Storage

Account Information: Your account data (including signup birthdate) is securely stored in Google Cloud and protected using industry-standard security measures.

Life Progress Information: Your optional life progress birthdate and all related calculations are stored exclusively on your device. We cannot access this information, and it is never sent to our servers or any third party.

Your Choices

Analytics
​

You can limit analytics data collection by:

​

  • Enabling "Limit Ad Tracking" in iOS Settings

  • Disabling analytics in iOS Settings > Privacy > Analytics & Improvements
     

Push Notifications
​

You can control push notifications at any time:

​

  • Disable in iOS Settings > Kairos > Notifications

  • Or within the App's settings
     

Data Security
 

We implement appropriate technical measures to protect information collected through Firebase. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
 

Children's Privacy
 

The App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us immediately.
 

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy in the App and updating the "Last Updated" date.

​

Data Retention
​

  • Account information (username, signup birthdate, reflections): Stored in Google Cloud until you delete your account

  • Anonymous analytics data: Retained by Firebase according to their retention policies (typically 14 months)

  • Life progress data (optional birthdate): Stored on your device until you delete the App or clear its data

  • Push notification tokens: Retained until you uninstall the App or disable notifications
     

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

​

  • Access the data we collect

  • Request deletion of your account and associated data

  • Opt-out of analytics tracking

  • Withdraw consent for push notifications
     

To exercise your rights:
 

  • Account data: Contact us to request access or deletion of your account information stored in Google Cloud

  • Life progress data: Stored locally on your device and can be deleted at any time by deleting the App or clearing its data

User Content is provided by users and does not reflect the views, opinions, or endorsement of Kairos or Summit Digital Labs, LLC. We make no representations or warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, reliability, or legality of User Content.

 

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all liability for:

  • User Content posted, transmitted, or shared through the App

  • Any errors, omissions, loss, or damage incurred as a result of User Content

  • Any interactions or disputes between users

  • Unauthorized access to or use of User Content

  • You acknowledge that you use the App and view User Content at your own risk.
