1. INTRODUCTION
This Privacy Policy ("Policy") governs the collection, use, and disclosure of information by Summit Digital Labs, LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") in connection with the Kairos mobile application (the "Application"). By accessing or using the Application, you ("User," "you," or "your") acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Policy.
2. INFORMATION COLLECTION
2.1 Account Information
Upon registration, we collect and store the following information on Google Cloud Platform infrastructure:

User-generated content, including daily reflections, commentary, and other submissions ("User Content")

Social interaction data, including friend connections, requests, likes, and engagement metrics

2.2 Optional Life Progress Data
Users may optionally provide a separate date of birth for life progress visualization. This information is stored exclusively on the User's local device and is neither transmitted to our servers nor accessible by the Company.
2.3 Automated Data Collection
We automatically collect the following through Firebase Analytics:

Application usage statistics and feature interaction data

Device information (model, operating system version, unique identifiers)

Approximate geographic location (country/region level)

Performance metrics (crash reports, load times, error logs)

2.4 Push Notification Data
Subject to User consent, we collect device tokens and notification delivery status through Firebase Cloud Messaging to facilitate push notification services.
3. USE OF INFORMATION
3.1 Primary Purposes
We process collected information for the following purposes:

3.2 Access to User Content
Authorized Company personnel may access User Content and associated account information when reasonably necessary for:
a) Service Provision: Enabling social features, displaying User Content to connected friends, and facilitating user interactions
b) Technical Support: Providing customer assistance, troubleshooting technical issues, and responding to user inquiries
c) Content Moderation: Enforcing Terms of Service, preventing abuse, detecting policy violations, and maintaining community safety
d) Legal Compliance: Complying with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes, or governmental requests
e) Service Enhancement: Analyzing usage patterns, developing features, and improving Application functionality
f) Security Operations: Protecting Application integrity and preventing fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity
All personnel with access to User Content are subject to strict confidentiality obligations. User Content is not treated as confidential information, and Users acknowledge that the Company cannot guarantee absolute privacy or security of transmitted or stored information.
3.3 Content Moderation Rights
The Company reserves the right, without obligation, to:

Monitor, screen, review, edit, or remove any User Content at any time without prior notice

Investigate potential violations of our Terms of Service or this Policy

Impose sanctions against Users who violate our policies, including content removal, account suspension, or termination

Disclose User Content to law enforcement or third parties when required by law or necessary to protect our rights, property, or safety
Users may report policy-violating content through designated reporting mechanisms. The Company reviews reported content at its sole discretion and makes no representations regarding the detection or removal of objectionable material.
4. THIRD-PARTY SERVICE PROVIDERS
4.1 Third-Party Data Processors
Kairos may engage third-party service providers and data processors to support the operation, maintenance, and improvement of the application and related services. Kairos third-party service providers may include, but are not limited to:

Anthropic, PBC, to support certain artificial intelligence features and system-level content generation.

Google LLC, including cloud infrastructure and related services for data hosting, storage, analytics, and application functionality.

Microsoft Corporation, for analytics and performance monitoring to improve the user experience.

OpenAI, L.L.C., to support certain artificial intelligence features and system-level content generation.
Kairos does not provide personally identifiable information to third-party artificial intelligence providers for the purpose of training their models, except where explicitly disclosed and permitted by applicable law.
4.2 Google Cloud Platform

5. DATA STORAGE AND SECURITY
5.1 Storage Locations

Account Data: Securely stored on Google Cloud Platform using industry-standard encryption and access controls

Life Progress Data: Stored exclusively on User's local device; not transmitted to Company servers
5.2 Security Measures
We implement commercially reasonable technical, administrative, and physical safeguards to protect information. However, no data transmission or storage system is entirely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. DATA RETENTION
We retain information as follows:

Account Information: Until account deletion or as required by law

User Content: Until User deletion or account termination

Analytics Data: Per Firebase retention policies (typically 14 months)

Life Progress Data: Until Application uninstallation or data clearing by User

7. USER RIGHTS AND CHOICES

7.3 International Users
Users outside the United States acknowledge that information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your jurisdiction. By using the Application, you consent to such transfer and processing.
8. AI Use Disclosure
Kairos may use automated tools and artificial intelligence to support certain features of the application and to generate system-level content. When applicable, Kairos may process limited information, including non-identifiable interaction data, to provide and improve application functionality, subject to the safeguards and limitations described in this Privacy Policy. Kairos does not use personally identifiable information or user-generated content to train artificial intelligence models.
9. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
The Application is not directed to individuals under the age of thirteen (13) or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, contact us immediately at hello@getkairos.org, and we will take steps to delete such information.
10. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
10.1 User Content Disclaimer
User Content is provided by Users and does not reflect the views, opinions, or endorsement of the Company. We make no representations or warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, reliability, or legality of User Content.
10.2 Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE COMPANY DISCLAIMS ALL LIABILITY FOR:

User Content posted, transmitted, or shared through the Application

Errors, omissions, losses, or damages arising from User Content
-
Interactions, disputes, or conflicts between Users
-
Unauthorized access to or use of User Content, including as a result of security incidents or unauthorized disclosure

Any reliance on User Content or Application features
Users acknowledge and agree that use of the Application and access to User Content is at their sole risk.
11. POLICY MODIFICATIONS
We reserve the right to modify this Policy at any time. Material changes will be communicated through:

Updated Policy posting within the Application

Revision of the "Effective Date" at the top of this Policy

In-app notifications or email communications (for substantial changes)
Continued use of the Application following Policy modifications constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
12. JURISDICTION AND GOVERNING LAW
This Policy shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction where Summit Digital Labs, LLC is registered, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from this Policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in such jurisdiction, except where prohibited by applicable law.
